North Pole Breakfast {2013 Edition}

December 3, 2013
This past weekend, we had our 2nd Annual North Pole Breakfast!!! In case any of you were wondering, Jessica at Little Pumpkin Grace...Hudson too! was the originator of the North Pole Breakfast. She is my absolute favorite mommy blogger! I've been stalking her blog this week trying to see if she has posted this year's NPB, since she usually does her breakfast the day after Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see what she came up with!

I wanted to have our NPB on Saturday morning, but Chris convinced me to do it on Sunday, since it was December 1st. I seriously regretted that decision on Saturday night as I was setting everything up around 11 p.m., after I had come down from the amazing high of Auburn's win in the Iron Bowl. Seriously, pulling out Christmas boxes and going through them is no fun when all you want to do is go to bed:/

...But, I managed to pull it off and get everything set up the night before. I also got a few detail shots before bed as well, since I knew that the following morning would be hectic, and it would be hard to keep little hands off the goodies while I cooked breakfast.

The peppermint kisses were a favorite from last year. None of us were fans of the peppermint marshmallows, so we'll save those for hot cocoa. The donut snowmen were an idea that I found on Pinterest. I forgot to add the "coal" mouths, and didn't realize it until too late. Like I said, 11 p.m. people;)

Of course, the point of any NPB is to welcome back our favorite scout elf, Elfa. She brought notes for the littles, {printable found here}. (Last year their notes came in the mail a few days after our NPB.)

She left the notes in these cute mailboxes that I found at the Dollar Tree along with a pair of Christmas socks.

This year, Elfa also a brought a friend with her. He's just a friend;) Although I was pulling for the name "Spirit," the littles decided to name their elf, "Tiger."

The littles were so excited when they spotted the elves the next morning.

Elfa was in her usual NPB morning spot.

We read Chloe and Evan their notes from Elfa first.

Then, the littles wanted to open their presents. If you haven't already noticed, I have a love affair with chevron stripes. I found this adorable coordinating wrapping paper at Hobby Lobby.

They each got Christmas PJ's and Hallmark ornaments, so we could enjoy them all month long as oppose to one night. The PJ's that the littles were wearing on this morning were the PJ's that they received the year before.

You may not be able to tell, but Evan really enjoyed his.

We had Rudolph pancakes, but I'm too embarrassed to post close-up pictures. To get an idea of how they should have looked, click {here}. In my defense, we don't have a the proper non-stick pan to make pancakes. However, here are a couple of more pictures of us enjoying our breakfast.

I would say that our 2nd Annual North Pole Breakfast was a success, despite the grumpy midnight decorating. It's so fun being able to enjoy these moments while my littles still enjoy them. I'll hold on for as long as they'll let me:)

Here is a link to our {2012 North Pole Breakfast} just in case you wanted to reminisce with me.

  1. I really should do this next year... I love Jessica's blog, especially her North Pole Breakfasts!! I love those darling little mailboxes and I have those same Santa pj's, I got them from Target last year and I bet they still fit. I am trying to figure out what to put in the kids shoes/boots on St. Nick's day! It is coming up.

    1. Thanks, Carrie! It's usually very fun. It seems everyone bought the Target Santa PJ's last year. They were so cute and great quality for the price. I must google this St. Nick's Day tradition...
