Chloe's First Class Field Trip

September 23, 2013 1 comment
Chloe recently went on her first class field trip to the veterinarian's office! She was so excited. I usually wake her up in the morning after I've gotten myself ready for work, but she was wide awake by the time I got to her room on this morning.

I was working, but Chris went along as one of the chaperones. In fact, almost every child had a parent there to chaperone. Evan was given special permission to tag along with the class as well. Otherwise, Chris would not have been able to participate. Chris said that Evan fit right in with his green shirt, but seemed a little nervous around the older kids.

(Looking at this picture, I'm reminded that I really need to schedule an appointment to get Evan's hair cut.)

Chris didn't bring our camera, but he did take a few pictures with his phone.

Chris claimed that the other parents were like paparazzi surrounding the children, but he did manage to get one photo of Chloe and Evan during the field trip through a window. (I can't judge, I would've been right there with them;))

Chloe loves learning about new things. I got an ear full when I got home from work...something about dogs with heartworms. I'm so glad that she is thriving and enjoying her preschool program!

I've been in a blog writing (not reading;)) funk lately, so I thought that the best medicine would be to sit (or in my case, lay down) and type. Truth be told, there hasn't been too much to blog about lately. I do love finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, like most bloggers, but I haven't felt inspired lately. Maybe it's this darn cold that's been making its way through our house and draining any bit of  energy that I have left.

We're adjusting to our new routine and just living life.

Oh yeah, and watching Auburn football on Saturdays! Warrrrrrr Eagle!!!

This was one of our more relaxed Saturday afternoons. Chloe has been honing her photography skills as well ;)

My mother-in-law surprised me with this adorable mesh wreath last month and I couldn't resist taking this photo of the littles all decked out in their Auburn gear!

This cute, but blurry, photo was taken by Chloe. My intention was to get a family photo, but once the game came on TV, all intentions went out the window.

And, here is my little mess striking a "cheer leading" pose!

Also, I finally got to hold Baby Shelby!!! I met Miss Shelby in the hospital a few weeks ago, but she had a "rough go of it" during her first few weeks of life and was in the NICU:( She is at home now and doing very well. Lots of prayers got her and her momma through those first few weeks. God is good!

Do you see that red hair?! She is beautiful!

The littles also got a chance to hold sweet Shelby.

I can't wait to hold her again! Although, it will probably be another week or so. I don't want to risk passing along our sickness to Shelby. I'm sure her momma's heart has endured more than it can handle for a while;)

...Well, that wasn't so bad...Once I started typing, I realized that there are a few more events that I've been wanting to share...:)

Chris Turns 33!

We celebrated another birthday last weekend...

We spent our Labor Day "in the country" with Nana and Granddaddy. Nana cooked a delicious lunch in honor of Chris's birthday (which was actually on the following Tuesday).

Nana and the littles presented Chris with his cookie cake! It is tradition for Nana to bake Chris a cookie cake for his birthday.

After lunch (and dessert), Chris and the littles went for a ride on the go-cart.

We always enjoy our days at Nana and Granddaddy's. It's laid-back, but fun. The littles love to be spoiled by Nana, Granddaddy, and Aunt Sara. And, they love riding on the go-cart around the family land and to the creek.

The following morning, the littles and I took Chris out for breakfast at Shashy's Deli to celebrate his birthday. (Chris had class that evening and I was going to the volunteers' consignment sale around lunch time, so it was the only meal that both of us had free.)

Chloe and Evan made a sweet birthday card for Chris. Chloe insisted that I get a "good" picture of Daddy reading his card, so Chris obligingly posed for this picture;)

Happy Birthday, Chris! Thank you for all you do to keep our little family going, managing a household and full-time class load. I'm so proud of how far we've come over these past few years. We love you!

Our Weekend and Madi's 2nd Birthday

I've been super busy with consignment sale "stuff" over these past few weeks, so I haven't had much time for blogging. I stepped over to the dark side and decided to volunteer to work at one of the local consignment sales so that I could shop at the volunteers' sale (before the consignors' sale) this year. For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about, {here} is a post that I wrote last fall about consigning.

Also, after two years, my refurbished everyday lens went kaput! I really can't complain though; I certainly got my money's worth out of it. My replacement lens arrived last week, just in time for the weekend.

I spent most of my Saturday volunteering and got home in time to eat some yummy sliders and Rotel cheese dip that the hubby cooked, all while enjoying some Auburn football. War Eagle!!! Chris and the littles were oh-so-cute sporting their Auburn attire, but I was pooped and didn't bother to take any pictures that night.

On Sunday we attended Madi's 2nd Birthday party!

She was the cutest little birthday princess!

This photo booth that Madi's mom, Brantley, set up was a nice touch!

And on this HOT weekend, a dip in the pool was so refreshing!

The littles were so silly when I tried to get a couple of pictures of them.

They really enjoyed swimming. Actually, some wheeling and dealing occurred to get the them out of the pool.

We had such a good time! It was nice to catch up with old friends...and Madi was a doll! Happy Birthday Madi!
