An Awesome LEGO Party! {Evan's 8th Birthday}

We celebrated Evan's 8th birthday this weekend with a LEGO-themed party!

Over the past couple of years, Evan has become quite the little artist. He decided that this year's party would be held at his favorite pottery painting studio, Paint & Clay.

Here are a few pictures of our party décor.

Chloe woke up bright and early on the morning of the party to assemble this LEGO "8" for her brother and the party! We had seen this while searching for party ideas on Pinterest. What's the saying? " The family that party plans together..." I'll let you fill in the blank.

We remembered to take a few pictures before the party started.

Both kids are getting so tall. It may be time to start rethinking how we position ourselves in family photos.

While we waited for our party guests to arrive, the kids played with the LEGO pieces from our centerpieces, cute and functional.

Then, the party festivities and pottery painting fun began.

We sang "Happy Birthday" and ate cake.

As a party memento, all the party guests helped design a plate for Evan. Evan's handprint in the middle was the finishing touch.

As the party was winding down, I took pictures of Evan with his remaining guests.

We didn't forget the grandmothers!:)

This party was a lot tamer than many of our past parties, but the kids enjoyed themselves. Thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate with us and made the party so special. You're awesome! And to my sweet, intelligent, artistic, handsome, charismatic, and hilarious boy, I hope you had a Happy Birthday!

I know that some consider this a silly holiday, but what can I say, we love celebrating it! Happy Valentine's Day!

Snow Much Fun!

I think this is some kind of record in Alabama, but we've had 2 snow days only about a month apart.

It's so rare in our neck of the woods that everything is so wondrous and beautiful. I'm sure it wouldn't be so wondrous and beautiful if it were a common occurrence. Here are a few pictures of our snow day.

Luke loved the snow. We couldn't keep him inside.  He looked like a rabbit hopping around in it.

Snow fights! The snow was a little too soft to make a proper snowball, but the snow flurries they created when thrown were so pretty.

Then, we had more fun in the snow!

I almost forgot to get a picture a few family pictures. I knew it was my cue to leave the kids to their shenanigans when I heard, " Not more pictures!"

So, I resumed taking pictures in the yard before heading into the warmth of a couch and blanket that were calling my name.

Hopefully, most of the snow and ice will melt by tomorrow afternoon and we can open the state back up.:) I hope everyone enjoyed the snow day.
