I know that I sound like a broken record, but they've grown so much. Literally, they've grown! Chloe and Evan both shot up a few inches over the summer. I bought a few new uniform polos for them thinking that with their uniform pieces from the previous school year that we were set. Boy, was I wrong. Chloe did not fit into a single uniform piece that she wore last year. I was scrambling the week before school started to build up her school wardrobe.
We kicked off the new school year with new backpacks and shoes! I like to give the kids something to be excited about, since uniforms aren't really that fun. I let them pick out their backpacks online. They both liked these PBteen backpacks. Chris brought them to the Academy to pick out tennis shoes.
We had our traditional back to school breakfast. If you haven't figured it out by now. The kids and I are all about tradition. I kept breakfast simple, cinnamon rolls and fruit.
We took our first day pictures.
Then, we headed to school for the first day drop-off. This is/was the only day that parents are permitted to walk into the school to drop off their kids at their classrooms. The place was a madhouse. I was still able to take this picture with the kids. (Chris did not want to attempt one.)
Finally, we dropped them off with their teachers to begin the new school year.
Countless hours go into praying for these two to have a quality education and to do well in school. They make me so proud by using their God-given abilities and working hard. Evan, enjoy your 1st Grade year! Chloe, enjoy your 3rd Grade year! I hope y'all have a great school year!
